Assistant Branch Manager – Comly Office

William Penn Bank is looking to hire an Assistant Branch Manager to join our Philadelphia retail team at our Comly Road office. This full-time position is an exciting opportunity to work with a successful organization that will recognize your efforts. Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision to assigned Tellers and CSRs and administers the branch in a courteous, efficient and effective manner following established procedures and policies.
  • Assigns duties and work schedules to subordinates to ensure efficient functioning of department; maintains good employee relations; keeps staff informed of changes in Bank policy or operating methods; oversees security requirements for the safekeeping of employees and the public while on Bank property; and monitors alarm system. May occasionally operate a teller terminal.
  • Sells and cross-sells all Bank products and services while providing quality service and information to customers and prospective customers.
  • Greets customers and prospective customers, addressing them by name whenever possible, promotes the expansion of deposit and lending products and services by explaining the benefits and assisting customers in opening accounts and completing applications.
  • Pays special attention to customers and prospective customers needs and reactions to identify sales opportunities; assists sales associates in sales promotions and in problem solving with customers, terminals and balancing; resolves customer problems, answers inquiries, explains changes in procedures and provides assistance as needed.
  • Seeks out new prospects, both individual and business; actively helps plan and oversees activities of the branch, such as telemarketing and direct solicitation campaigns to develop business; and maintains certain customer contact data for marketing use.
  • Participates in all Bank promotions, presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and participates actively in community organizations and projects in such a way that reflects favorably on the Bank’s image.
  • Controls daily activities of branch operations ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes and maintains appropriate level of vault cash for daily operations; provides and replenishes cash drawers of sales associates and automatic teller machine; routinely audits teller cash drawer and vault, conducts daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly audits of all management controls and security items; provides daily operational reporting for reconciling, balancing and updating files; and ensures all Bank records are retained as scheduled; oversees regulatory testing.
  • May open and close the vault each business day; prepares periodic activity and monthly reports; monitors and maintains monetary log for Bank Secrecy Act; prepares IRS currency transactions reports; keeps informed regarding security and holdup procedures; microfilms items as needed; may operate teller terminal in the absence of sales associates; may serve as notary public; may take care of workstation balancing for loan and deposit side if needed.
  • Participates in all Bank promotions, cross-sells products and services and conducts relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall image of the Bank.
  • Manages assigned Tellers and CSRs and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and production, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems and attending unemployment hearings to present facts and circumstances regarding dismissals.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

Requires high school plus some technical, specialized or professional training plus above average verbal and written communication skills. Requires two years of sales and service experience and minimum of 18 months of direct supervision experience. Must complete in-house and continuing education classes as required or as established in goals annually.
